Yes but check first to see if open due to NM GOVERNORS orders. My guy is working in Artesia and states that this was closed this week unknown how long
They do have a menu that is actually quite extensive for a Mexican restaurant.
La Fonda ...is not open on Saturday!
3 I think....i
Think it just for lunch
Ends at 2 pn , i don't do buffet
This place was wondeful! Food was amazing and the service was on point! I would defiantly go back.
It was great, the food was delicious, the waitress was wonderful.
Food is not authentic mexican food it tastes like it's all made from can not from scratch
I know it's the small town rave but definitely needs a new cook. Hot sauce is tomatoe sauce a little revamp and they could be great. I always feel like i wasted my money when I go there..
Did not get all I ordered I did not get the chips or salsa that comes with all Spanish food orders. I ordered a cup of water to go with meal. So all the way bad. I normally love La Fonda Not that day.
Always good food and service
It's such a nice place to relax, eat and catch up with family and friends! Great prices for great tasting food.
Love the buffet, I like that it lasts until 3.... friendly staff do great about keeping our cups full! Nice, clean, family environment.
I would have to say, this is my all time, favorite place to eat!!
This place was better than Almas. The waitress was nice and the food was decent. I did the buffet, because the price was a little less than a traditional Mexican plate entree (The prices are a bit high, but not too terrible) and it was quicker than waiting for service. The lunch buffet is from 11am-3pm and it was $10.99 (that includes the drink also 😊) -I love Mexican food, but I'm from Texas so it's a different experience here in NM. With that said...their sweet tea was on point!
It was nice being able to go out to eat again the food was really good but our waitress was really rude and very unfriendly...not sure if I would go back
Very good service and food
Wonderful customer service. Will make you a Birthday cake with advanced notice
A very enjoyable place. Many friendly locals. Good food. Many interesting beers.
Got food poisoning from the chicken chimichanga and was in the bathroom dying for 12 hours. Ruined the end of the vacation, and ended up with stomach problems for months after. Called to let them know, didn't get so much as an apology. They acted very cold and didn't care. Do NOT eat here
Delicious food, Loved the history surrounding the area and the ambiance was extra special.
First time eaters here...for being a buffet it was really really good and fresh....different varieties to choose from...if only you had tamales...!! Good job La Fonda...we will be back....👍
Well, the service was bizarre..they brought out a dirty dish cart and everyone pitched I. Dumping food... Our table was clean when we were seated... Then when our server brought our food she only asked me if I needed anything else, I needed ranch dressing, but my husband wanted another drink...she didn't ask she left saying she would be right back...yes after taking 2 other tables orders and yacking with the table next to us, over halfway finished with my food she brought the dressing... It goes on..you get the picture..we finally just began laughing it was so very strange!!
Great dinner here! I had the 16oz rib eye steak, medium rare, with a loaded baked potato and steamed veggies. It came with a salad before hand. The salad was a good size and had bacon bits, like real bacon which is always a winner. The steak was delicious, well seasoned and a good cut of steak. The loaded baked potato had lots of loaded on it. The dinner came with a sweet roll as well. For $18.99 a great value.
This place is a treasure. These sort of places are dying out lots of places and I drive through Artesia just to stop here. It is a great value and you leave satisfied and feeling like you got your money's worth and went back in time to when chains weren't dominating.
Good food. Parking lot was totally packed. I thought I wasn't gonna get a table but it wasn't a problem at all. My biggest complaint is that they're closed on Saturdays. That makes no sense. I love their chile rellanos.
Food was delicious. Service a little slow.
Great place to eat. Great people who work there. Always my go-to spot. Even with it being busy they had our food out in an efficient time and it was delicious! Defenetly recommend if you have never eaten here before.
Best place in Artesia. I eat here wherever I come to visit.
Good food, grate service... can't ask for more.
Outstanding Mexican food in Artesia. We were staying in Carlsbad, NM and drove the 40 minutes to eat there. The service was sporadic at that we asked for a second beer and we almost finished our meal before it arrived and then after asking a second time.
I would say 2.5 stars. The food wasn't great. I ordered a medium steak that came out well done. The service was good though. Whomever my waitress was was really nice and attentive.
Great food!
Excellent food, good service
This was a good place to eat and I would go back there again. No trouble with crowds or lines when we ate there--or parking.
Good food and nice atmosphere.
This was my first visit here and I really enjoyed it! Enjoyed the Mexican food buffet. Food is very good quality and service was very nice.
The carne asada was awesome. I tried serval place and this one by far was the best
The hostess was fantastic. Food was good and price was good. I'd come back.
Had a great meal. Best steak I've eaten in a long time. Server was very knowledgeable of menu items and cheerfully accommodated all our special dietary needs.
Great services and excelent food
Great food great service 👍👍👍
I haven't been here in about 20 years
Not like what you get in Texas but still delicious
good food.slow service ok atmosphere
Good as ever, been going there over 50 years, every time I am in Artesia.
Extremely busy on Sundays and the buffet is pretty bad. If you want something decent, order fajitas... But the flour tortillas are about as thick as a deep dish pizza crust.
Food very good, nice atmosphere...
Always great food, and great service! I love the atmosphere, and reasonable prices!
Excellent Mexican buffet. Taco meat was spiced just right. Great chocolate pudding and German chocolate cake. We'll be back!
Carne Asada is great! Salsa is like a tomato paste. If you're like me and judge a restaurant by its salsa before getting the food, you'll be wrong in this case. Salsa isn't what it should be but the tenderness of the meat makes up for the lack.
Asked for Beef Stiffed sopapillas and got about a tablespoon of beef in each soda. The food tasted good. But definitely Not worth the price for not getting any meat. NOT GIU BACK ANYTIME SOON.
My family has eaten Sunday lunch there every week for years. We love the personalized service, including having a usual table with our drinks ready. The lunch buffet is my big draw - ribs on Thursday and fish Friday - with plenty of good staples like chili rellenos, tacos, fajitas, enchiladas, and a salad bar. Great servant of our community.
Some of the best Mexican food I have ever eaten.
Great Food, love the menudo and tamales. Good Service.
